NOTICE TO CUSTOMERS OF PUBLIC WATER SUPPLY DISTRICT 6

Public Water Supply District 6 will be increasing water rates effective October 1st, 2020.  Contributing factors for the rate increase include rising costs of operations, maintenance and repair of the water system, electricity and needed improvements.  The Water District is planning for some major capital improvements which include replacing aging infrastructure, a New Groundwater Deep Well to help keep up with the demand on the current system and a secondary water main, supplying the downtown business district to minimize water outages and Boil Water Notices.  The current monthly minimum charge of $13.03 for the first 1,000 gallons will increase by 7.52% to $14.01, and additional usage above the first 1,000 gallons will increase from $5.42 to $5.83 for each 1,000 gallons.  An average water user of 5,000 gallons per month will pay an additional $2.60 per month.  The last rate increase needed went into effect in 2016, meaning the increased cost to customer has averaged 1.5% per year.  This is a pretty good number over four years, as the District strives to lower certain operating costs, offsetting the normal rate of inflation which we all experience.    Any questions please call our office at 636-671-4096 or send email to manager@pwsd6.org
